Tidal Wave? - Nope!

It makes me wonder why newscasters even bother using the word tsunami when they then incorrectly use the term “tidal wave”. A tsunami is a wave caused by the disturbance of water, usually an underwater earthquake, but it could also be caused by a meteorite or glacier falling into the water. The waves that have killed to date 160,000 people had nothing (or extremely little) to do with the tides folks!
