Sorry Andy! After buying into Beta, I was afraid I was jinxed by buying into Blu-Ray–but I guess it was my turn not to be caught with an orphan format this time.

Now whether Samsung will issue a comprehensive and continuing set of firmware updates for my BD-P1200 is another question…. :)

You would probably be completely embarrassed by my dvd player that is about 5 years old. People have confused it for a vhs player because its is kind of big. Despite all this I am glad I am waiting to see wins the high-def war hah.

So, Andy, does your new drive play your Betamax tapes too?

looks like BestBuy will be recommending Blu-Ray as the “format of choice.” http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/home/index.jsp?epi-content=NEWS_VIEW_POPUP_TYPE&newsId=20080211006384&ndmHsc=v2*A1200142800000*B1202794618000*DgroupByDate*J2*L1*N1000837*Zbest%20buy&newsLang=en&beanID=202776713&viewID=news_view_popup
